Clarity · Ariadne

An agent for
the way you learn.

I’m building Ariadne inside Clarity: a personal learning agent that connects a question with the learner, their materials and the day around them.

A familiar presence. A personal choice.

One Ariadne.
Room to make it yours.

The six characters explore different visual identities for the same learning agent. I’m designing room to personalise Ariadne’s appearance, name and tone.

A presence you feel comfortable returning to, with your question and the context you choose to share kept together.

Meet Ariadne
The product direction

From a question
to a useful next step.

Learning, practice and planning belong in the same conversation. These are the capabilities I’m designing for Ariadne as Clarity’s next generation develops.

01Designed capability

Start with your context.

A question belongs to a person and a particular learning day. Ariadne is designed to connect the question with the context a learner chooses to share.

  • School stage, region and timetable
  • Homework, tests and interests
  • Strengths and areas that need more practice
02Designed capability

Make an explanation click.

Begin with a useful first answer, then change the explanation as the conversation develops: a visual, a worked step, or a question to check understanding.

  • Short explanations and useful visuals
  • Understanding checks and practice
  • Flashcards, quizzes, practice tests and printable PDFs
03Designed capability

Work through the problem.

Bring a photographed worksheet or a specific task. The direction is to help the learner identify the problem, try a step and understand where their reasoning leads.

  • Recognise and correct the selected task
  • Hints, worked steps and solution checks
  • An independent attempt before the final solution
04Designed capability

Find time for learning.

Build a study plan around the time that actually exists, the tests ahead and what recent practice reveals. A plan should respond to the learner’s day.

  • Available time and upcoming tests
  • Practical study sessions
  • Adjustments informed by feedback
05Designed capability

See learning over time.

Connect topics, sources, practice attempts, hints and study sessions in a learning record. Independent answers should remain distinguishable from the help used along the way.

  • Source-linked topics and materials
  • Independent practice and understanding checks
  • A record of hints, sessions and created study objects
06Designed capability

Pick up the thread.

Return to an earlier topic with its context intact. Ariadne is designed to help refresh learning when it is due and carry useful context into the next school year.

  • Recall earlier questions and topics
  • Return to learning that needs a refresh
  • Continuity across subjects and school years
07Designed capability

Choose the right moment.

A useful morning overview, preparation before a test, or a reminder when there is time to study. The timing should follow the learning day and the person’s preferences.

  • Context-aware study and homework prompts
  • Preparation and review at relevant moments
  • Quiet hours and notification controls
08Designed capability

Move a project forward.

Turn a larger piece of work into clear steps, supporting material and practice. The learner stays responsible for understanding and submitting their own work.

  • Project steps and to-dos
  • Materials and presentation drafts
  • Linked flashcards, quizzes and practice tests
09Designed capability

Keep the conversation going.

Type a quick question or talk through a difficult point. Text and natural two-way voice are designed to share the same thread, material and current learning context.

  • Text and natural voice conversation
  • The same question, material and practice context
  • Visual explanations within the learning conversation
Where the project is going

The capabilities above describe the product direction. I have a working developer prototype; access to the current build and the features available for testing are discussed when arranging a demo.

The developer prototype

From an idea
to a working experience.

I have a working developer prototype of the personal tutor. It gives me a concrete place to develop the experience and refine how the pieces work together.

For a closer look at the current build, request a developer demo or TestFlight access. I review requests individually and share the available testing details directly.

A conversation
that keeps its place.

The direction is one continuous learning thread across speech, text and visual explanation. The learner should be able to change how they interact while keeping the question and chosen context close at hand.

A clear relationship with control

Choose the scope.
Stay in control.

The experience is designed around explicit permission, a visible record and personal control over consequential steps.

  1. 01

    Choose the context.

Decide which data Ariadne may use and which actions she may take in Clarity. Approved reading can happen quietly within that scope.

  2. 02

    Keep a clear record.

Supported changes made with permission leave a receipt and an Undo option, so the next step remains visible and reversible.

  3. 03

    Confirm the consequential steps.

Deletion and actions that reach other people, including invitations, ask separately. The learner controls those decisions.

A closer look

the work is going.
